HILLSBORO -- Mrs. Ethel Pearl Jahnke, 66, a resident of Hillsboro for many years, died Friday morning in Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville where she had been a patient for a week. She was born March 25, 1895, in Tompkinsville, Ky., and her parents were John W. and Lillie Martin Combs. On Dec. 24, 1913, she married Emil Jahnke in Crawfordsville. The couple moved to Hillsboro soon after their marriage. She was a member of the Hillsboro Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, two sons, Ernest and Karl of Hillsboro; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Epperson of Attica, Mrs. Louise Dorn of Prarie du Richer, Ill., and Mrs. Ruby Herschbergen and Mrs. Dorothy Neal of Indianapolis; two brothers, William of Crawfordsville and Ralph of Owensboro, Ky; a sister, Mrs. Effie Morris of Monon, and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Charles Sites officiating and assisted by Rev. Ross Kirk. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery near Hillsboro. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday afternoon and evening. - transcribed by kbz
